Classes introduce students of all ages to different art media and techniques. Students are placed in classes based on age and ability. All students increase their visual perception, confidence, listening skills, problem solving abilities, and increase their self esteem at our art school.

Youth weekly classes are available for students 3 yrs old & up during the school year via sixteen week fall and spring sessions.  Students  may start at any point during the session with tuition prorated. Scroll down for class info.

Young students develop fine motor skills and explore their creativity through age appropriate drawing, painting, clay, construction, paper mache, play dough and a wide variety of fun activities.

Older students learn the fundamentals of design and composition. They cover line, value, color, shape, size, and direction.The principles used are unity, conflict, dominance, repetition, alternation, balance, harmony, and gradation..We encourage exploration of charcoal, pastels (chalk, oil, and water soluble oil) watercolor, acrylics, watercolor pencils, sculpture, and more.

 

Adult weekly classes are availiable throughout the year. Classes teach beginning/intermediate level drawing, pencil, pastel,and painting techniques. Classes cover the fundamentals of design and composition.

Adult Painting Parties are offered Thursday evenings and are also available thru private bookings. Click on matting and framing link above for more details on the painting parties.

Youth Classes

Pre-k -1st grade - Art Fun- Class encourages creativity while developing small motor skills, listening skills, and gaining self esteem through a variety of activities and media including drawing, water color painting, tempera painting, finger painting, markers, crayons, play dough, printing, fabric, collage, construction, puzzles and art games. Class teaches colors, shapes, patterns, proper pencil and scissor handling.

Any Age-These are new class offered for children and/or parents that cannot make an afternoon class.  We cover the same projects as the class below, k-6th grade.  Parents may work on their own projects or joint projects with their children.

K-6th Grade- Multi Media one-Students are challenged thru a wide variety of media as they learn the fundamentals of drawing, shading, value, perspective, design, composition and elementary color theory. Media include pencil, watercolor, watercolor pencil, charcoal, pastel, acrylic, clay, paper mache, carving, string art, glass painting, etc.

Adult

Adult classes are offered each week throughout the year. Classes cover the fundamentals of design and composition. We study line, value, color, shape, size, and direction. The principles used are unity, conflict, dominance, repetition, alternation, balance, harmony, and gradation. Adults work on their own projects independently of each other. Group or class projects may be considered depending upon the class. Work is critiqued during each class; outside work may also be critiqued.

Adult Painting Parties Come have fun with your friends and leave with a painting ready to hang in your home or give as a gift.  Enjoy the process, no previous  experience necessary. You may paint along with me, you may choose another painting to work from, or you may create your own.  Join us for a relaxing night: enjoy the company and the art.  And don't forget the wine, I'll provide the glasses, wine opener and plates/napkins if you bring a snack.
For a private party you may call to book any night, weekend or weeknight for your group, deposit required. Space is limited to 8 adults.
Parties are offered Weekly 7pm-9:30pm, Thursdays, call 817-421-2486 to reserve your class.  Parties are $35 including supplies.

 

Tuition, Terms and Conditions

 

 No registration fee

 

Supply Fee

1st-6th and 7th & up:  $10 supply fee includes brushes, pencil, tortillon, eraser, and sharpie that will be used only by them.  It will be stored at the studio for only your student’s use and will only be charged again when replacements are needed.  If used properly by your student they should last several sessions.

 

3-5 yr olds and pre-k-1st:   $10 supply fee includes brushes, pencil, eraser, oil pastels, watercolor paint and sharpie.  It will be stored at the studio for only your student’s use and will only be charged again when replacements are needed.  If used properly by your student they should last several sessions.

 

Tuition is due upon registration

 

 Payment Options:  

               1 hour weekly classes (16 per session) 

                       4 payments $50 (1st month due at registration, remaining due the first week of Oct, Nov, Dec or Feb, Mar, Apr)  

                                           or save

                       1 payment $184 due upon registration

 

               1 1/2 hour weekly classes (16 per session)

                        4 payments $74(1st month due at registration, remaining due the first week of Oct, Nov, Dec or Feb, Mar, Apr)  

                                           or save   

                         1 payment $272 due upon registration

 

                Adult classes

                          2 hour class, supplies provided, (excluding canvas) $25 per class

                          2 hour class, you provide supplies, $20 per class

              

Terms and Conditions:

If an absence is reported prior to class a make-up class can be scheduled during another regularly scheduled class.  Your make up class must be scheduled ahead to ensure there is enough space for your child and that the scheduled class is not disrupted by accommodating your student.  If your child’s schedule changes, contact the Bein Gallery Art School/Kids’ Art in Southlake when you are aware of the conflict.  If we are unable to reschedule your child into another class the balance of tuition will be refunded in accordance with our refund policy. Refund Policy:  Payment of tuition guarantees your student a class.  Tuition will only be refunded with a three week notice.
