We offer.... Youth Weekly classes to students of all ages during the school year via sixteen week fall and spring sessions. Students may start classes at any point during the session with tuition prorated. Scroll down for class info. Summer classes are offered via three day camps, two or four hours/day based on student age. Camps are offered eight weeks during the summer. All camps include a variety of activities.Click on camps to the right for details. Special holiday classes are offered during school vacations, click camps to check current special class offerings. | Classes introduce students of all ages to different art media and techniques. Students are placed in classes based on age and ability. All students increase their visual perception, confidence, listening skills, problem solving abilities, and increase their self esteem at our art school. | Older students learn the fundamentals of design and composition. They cover line, value, color, shape, size, and direction.The principles used are unity, conflict, dominance, repetition, alternation, balance, harmony, and gradation..We encourage exploration of charcoal, pastels (chalk, oil, and water soluble oil) watercolor, acrylics, watercolor pencils, sculpture, and more. |
Young students develop fine motor skills and explore their creativity through age appropriate drawing, painting, clay, construction, paper mache, play dough and a wide variety of fun activities. |
Youth Classes Pre-k -Kindergarten- Art Fun- Class encourages creativity while developing small motor skills, listening skills, and gaining self esteem through a variety of activities and media including drawing, water color painting, tempera painting, finger painting, markers, crayons, play dough, printing, fabric, collage, construction, puzzles and art games. Class teaches colors, shapes, patterns, proper pencil and scissor handling. Thursday 11am-12am Friday 10am-11am 1st-6th Grade- Multi Media one-Students are challenged thru a wide variety of media as they learn the fundamentals of drawing, shading, value, perspective, design, composition and elementary color theory. Media include pencil, watercolor, watercolor pencil, charcoal, pastel, acrylic, clay, paper mache, carving, string art, glass painting, etc. Tuesday 4:30pm-5:30pm Wednesday 4:00pm-5:00pm Thursday 4:00pm-5:00pm Friday 4:00pm-5:00pm 6th grade & up- Drawing & Painting- Older students concentrate on fundamentals of design, composition, perspective, shading, value, sighting & referencing, and color theory using pencil, charcoal, pastel, oil pastel, watercolor, watercolor pencil, and acrylic. Tuesday 5:30pm-6:30pm Homeschool- Home school-Students experiment with various media including pencil, pastel, charcoal, clay, paper mache, and carving. Fundamentals of design, shading, perspective, value, and color theory are covered using additional media of watercolor, watercolor pencil, and acrylic. Tuesday 1:00pm-2:30pm Tuesday 1:30pm-2:30pm Thursday 1:30pm-3:00pm
Adult Adult classes are offered each week throughout the year. Classes cover the fundamentals of design and composition. We study line, value, color, shape, size, and direction. The principles used are unity, conflict, dominance, repetition, alternation, balance, harmony, and gradation. Adults work on their own projects independently of each other. Group or class projects may be considered depending upon the class. Work is critiqued during each class; outside work may also be critiqued. Come have fun with your friends and leave with a painting ready to hang in your home or give as a gift. Enjoy the process, no previous experience necessary. You may paint along with me, you may chose another painting to work from, or you may create your own. Join us for a relaxing night, enjoy the company and the art. And don't forget the wine, I'll provide the glasses, wine opener and plates/napkins if you bring a snack.
